Sewing is more than a Stitch

Discovering your calling in a craft that's more than just a hobby can be pretty mind-blowing but deep.

Stitching could totally be your thing! Imagine, stitching is a must for everyone unless you're into the natural look. We rock clothes and accessories all the time or as minimalistic as possible (just like me) when winding down at night in bed.

I never expected it would turn into such a passion for me today, watching my grandma use her black singer sewing machine to make our yearly Easter dresses and matching coats. Boy, did I despise wearing those outfits!

Remembering them now, they were lovely, creative, and so personal, all sewn with love. My grandma didn't sew outfits due to financial constraints but out of pure love for us, just like her cooking for the family. Sewing was an expression of love for her.

Now time travel to the present.

One morning during the beginning of COVID-19 2020 when all hell broke lose and everyone had to stay indoors and keep our distance.  Hearing mother nature take over while in bed in Miami Beach, I stumbled upon an news segment about the shortage of face masks for the hospitals and their staff.  How they now need help with anyone can make cloth face masks.

We in the travel biz were the original laid-off trendsetters, I was like, I got this! Can I sew? Maybe! LOL Helpin' out and not about the cash but makin' a real change.

So, I used my little cash and brought a Eversew machine and ran to the fabric district in downtown Miami not far from me and started.  I had no idea what I was doing.
